Frankie and Annette seem to have been in real life as cleancut and wholesome as they were on the screen. Annette's last 25 years must have been hell on earth. Doctors found she had MS when she was 45, and she had to live another 25 years knowing her terminal illiness would only get worse. Her beauty and goodness was only matched by her courage!

One of Gene Vincent's own written songs.. He was clearly moving with the times with his music. But if you listen to this song it's about drug addiction.. Gene also battled with drug addiction... He had a great voice... He always liked the music box sound on a lot of his songs...

He wasca really nice guy who was driven to drink to dull the constant pain from his leg. It made him moody and often unpleasant and not his real self,and carrying a gun probably didn't help. He didn't get a lot of good material, and in the studio would acquiesce and pretty much record any crap that was put in front of him. I dunno,that's about what I think about this song, but that's just my opinion. He looked at the ceiling because he was shy and nervous. On one of his Town Hall Party appearances he actually says he's nervous. As for his leg- his own good nature made that worse for him. The story's out there, Ive talked long enough. From a fan of his great voice and stage act.

Love this song, I remember dancing this with a special guy at a Dance and he had his own band there that night and he surprised me with a dance. Will never forget him or that dance...

The late great Gene Vincent. To me Gene was at the cutting edge of early rock and roll. His vocal range and style were phenomenal. His voice was the driving force behind tracks such as Who Slapped John and Say Mama. He could also get real emotional feelings into tracks like Somewhere Over The Rainbow and The Waltz Of The Wind . And let's not forget the rock guitar of Cliff Gallup behind him. Truly inspiring.

So cool. We saw nothing like this in England in 1957 - leastwise not where I lived - it was still as if not much had changed since 1947!! It was years before the UK made a recovery from WW2.
